They’re both two-speed ops and both carry frag grenades, so the choice between them really comes down to the preference between Buck’s unmatched breaching speed and Sledge’s versatility. They both excel at soft breaching: Sledge with his titular hammer, and Buck with his rifle-mounted shotgun.
Sledge and Buck are two sides of the same coin, both accomplishing the same goal in different ways.
